Event description

PHNs are charged with the responsibility of improving the health and wellbeing of their local communities yet are confronted with the difficult challenge of measuring their impact in determining whether, and how, they make a difference.

This introductory workshop provides a framework, results-based accountability (RBA), for measuring the impact PHNs have on their communities. The workshop covers:

  • why evaluate: accountability v program improvement.
  • monitoring v. evaluation and M&E frameworks
  • program logic, theories of change and the quadruple aim
  • population indicators v program measures
  • a tool for developing program measures.

This workshop is for PHN staff only.

The workshop will be led by Greg Masters and Melinda Daley.

Greg is the director of Nexus, which he established in 1996 following roles in health service planning. Greg has extensive experience in the design of monitoring and evaluation frameworks in the health sector and has conducted numerous evaluations of health programs and services, including a number of consulting assignments for PHNs. He has designed and delivered numerous interactive workshops on program logic, evaluation, RBA for a diverse range of government and non-government agencies and is an engaging, energetic facilitator.
