Monoyo Film Club presents ìfé: The Sequel
Description
You’re invited to the first Monoyo Film Club, an evening of film and conversation centering Black queer stories from across the diaspora.
We’re screening ìfé: The Sequel, directed and produced by Pamela Adie and written by Uyaiedu Ikpe-Etim. Years after their love story began, Ife and Adaora cross paths again in Lagos and have to decide what they’re willing to risk to choose each other. It’s a Nigerian love story about queer women, made in a country where stories like this are still pushed out of sight.
After the film, we’ll share a conversation with the director, then open the floor for a guided discussion with everyone in the room.
Before you come: If you can, watch the original Ìfé (2020) first. The sequel stands on its own, but you’ll feel it more. Watch here.
