Montessori Principles: Through a 6-12 Lens
Event description
Montessori Principles: Through a 6-12 Lens
In the book, “Montessori: The Science Behind the Genius” (2007) Angeline Stoll Lillard summarised Montessori education by highlighting eight key principles:
- Movement and Cognition
- Choice
- Interest
- Extrinsic Rewards are Avoided
- Learning with and from Peers
- Learning in Context
- Teacher Ways and Child Ways
- Order in Environment and Mind
But what do these principles actually mean and what do they look like in practice, in the context of the 6-12 environment?
Come along to this workshop to discuss these key principles and how they can be supported and upheld in the Montessori 6-12 environment. Be prepared to discuss and share your observations, experiences and current practices.
***We encourage live-attendance at our events so that you can gain the most out of the session. However this event will be recorded and made available to view for a limited time by ticket holders who cannot attend the live workshop.***
