Purposeful Movement in Toddlers A live online workshop with Happy Story Co and Little Hands at Work

Toddlers are rarely still and that is exactly as it should be. Every climb, carry, push and pour is doing important work: building coordination, concentration, independence, and the foundations of later learning.

In this workshop we look closely at movement in the toddler years through a Montessori lens. You'll learn to recognise the difference between busy movement and purposeful movement, understand what your toddler is working on at each stage, and set up your home or classroom so that meaningful movement is possible.

We'll cover:

• What "purposeful movement" means between roughly 12 months and 3 years, and why it matters for the developing brain

• The movements toddlers are naturally drawn to and how to support them

• Simple changes to your environment that invite independence and real participation in daily life

• When to step back, when to step in, and how to observe what your child is really practising

This session is part of our workshop series with Happy Story Co. Each workshop stands on its own you're welcome whether or not you've joined us before.

Who it's for: Parents, grandparents, carers and educators of children aged 1–3.
