Moon Dust & Soul Bread August 2026
Description
An Evening of Myth and Story
This month's story is for the women.
We invite you to step into the liminal space of myth and story with us. Settle back, relax, and listen.
Then participate in 'feeding the story', from your heart and experience: a method of deepening the story and bringing it to life, giving it blood, bone and sinew. This way the stories are not just texts to analyse, but stories that activate psyche, stir memory, and awaken the hidden chambers of voice, body, and imagination.
About feeding the story - Normally when we listen to someone tell a story, it is a very passive activity; one of simply receiving. Feeding the story is an act of reciprocity, This method of interactive storytelling encourages the audience to pay close attention to all aspects of the story; to pay attention to those parts, even very small details, that strike a chord or resonate in some way. In the feeding, the story deepens in meaning - it grows bones and sinew - we begin to have a closer relationship with it, and in doing so, the story, its world and characters, comes to life offering wisdom, direction, and greater connection to self. Through the practice, listening, and feeding back, participants will deepen their relationship with the mythic as a living animate force that moves through bodies and is expressed through uttered sound and story. As we work with the story it works with us.
