MOOROOKA BLUES MINI FEST

The Moorooka Blues Mini fest is set for its inaugural event on Saturday October 24 at Clubhouse Moorooka and showcases some top-notch Australian Blues. See '8 Ball Aitken', 'Olivia Ruth', 'Piano Wizard & Dillion James Band', 'Juhl Atkinson Band', along with an all-star finale jam in the final set.

Clubhouse Moorooka is a community hub, and provides free barefoot bowling, food trucks, full Bar and facilities within the clubhouse, ample seating, and a chance to get up close and personal with the artists.

8 Ball Aitken has toured the world performing his blues, soul, swamp-rock and groovy slide-guitar across twenty countries to date. He’s earned a loyal fanbase from his live shows and internet videos, while paying his dues as a singer, songwriter, guitarist, and producer. He’s headed to Memphis with Taya Chani and his band in January 2026 to represent the Blues Association of South East Queensland at the International Blues Challenge.

Olivia Ruth is a Blues/Rock artist from South East QLD, delivering raw, gritty vocals, delicate falsettos & whistle tones.  Known for explosive live shows and dynamic, truth driven storytelling, Olivia Ruth brings soul, power, and life to every stage.

Andrew Farrell the Piano Wizard is a phenomenally gifted artist who has developed a stunningly unique piano style. Combining classical elements with jazz, boogie-woogie and blues, he synthesizes these into a very personal and engaging musical compositions. His performances are always clever, dramatic, joyous and pyrotechnic.

Dillion James specialises in starting the party with his energetic sound that encapsulates the tone of an earlier era. Influenced heavily by the pioneers of blues piano & Hammond organ, his funky New Orleans styled album ‘HEAVY KEYS’ reached #1 on the Australian Blues and Roots Airplay Charts in 2024.

Juhl Atkinson boasts a voice that is reminiscent of the late great Howlin' Wolf, and has been refining his guitar skills since early childhood growing up in a rough neighborhood in Loganlea with mentors and teachers of the likes of 'Lazy John Duffy' and 'Blind Dog Donnie'.
