    Event description

Moralities and deceptions: justice and justifications in crime writing

The criminal defence lawyer and the psychologist
are still sitting in that bar…

Sisters In Crime NSW invite you to take another peek
behind the curtain of criminal life
with Sydney authors Siobhan Mullany and Ann Penhallurick.

Sunday 24th July, 5-6.15pm. Live on zoom

This is the second in our series

Crime: why write it, why read it?

for writers, readers and fans of crime fiction and fact.

Crime writing – whether fiction or ‘true’ – inevitably stirs up the pot of justice. But justice is not set down on paper like law and is even more open to interpretation. What is presented as justice often depends on who is telling the story.

Join Siobhan Mullany and Ann Penhallurick as they tease out overlaps and contradictions of justice and law as they’ve come across them in their professional and crime-obsessed lives. Engage with more real-life case histories and with important questions of believable – and satisfying - truths and justice in crime writing.

The zoom event will offer plenty of time to ask questions.
