Event description

Local artist and Patron of The Gums Landcare Group, based in Tranmere, South Australia has donated her third painting since 2021 to our group to raise much needed funds for our work in The Gums Reserve.

"Morning had Broken in The Gums Reserve", Adelaide SA. Acrylic on canvas. 62 x 92cms, valued at over $1750.

Lyn remarked on Facebook: 'I was asked to include a Tawny Frogmouth. The mascot bird for the Landcare group, so it's something of a 'Where's Wally?'.

'This painting is to be raffled to raise money for The Gums Landcare Group. A wonderful group of volunteers who nurture and look after this little oasis in the middle of suburbia. I was appalled when I went there for the photoshoot for this painting, to see what a terrible toll the drought has taken. Huge old River Reds dead and dying! The green is the watered area, you can see how dry the creek bed is. Thank goodness for the Landcare Group who are replanting and doing their best to preserve this precious asset!'

The raffle will be launched on 12/4/25 by the artist at The Gums Landcare Group AGM, 1800-1930, which will be held in Brookside Cellars. The draw for the winner will occur on National Tree Day 27/7/25 at the 'Yongala Community Shed', east of Brookside Cellars.
