    Event description

Monte Lupo studio invites kids to create a garden mosaic frame using our beautiful hand-made and decorated tiles. A selection of painted bugs, butterflies, flowers, animals, leaves and colours will be available to create your own garden frame. We will have a selection of grout colours available to choose from.

Kids will leave with a mosaicked garden frame that’s ready to hang.

More about Monte Lupo... In 1991 Multicap established the Monte Lupo Social Enterprise to provide a career path for people with disabilities who wished to be gainfully employed in an area encouraging creativity and artistic expression.  Today Monte Lupo studio employees 16 artists with a disability and 4 artists to work alongside the artist and oversee all studio production.

With minimal training, our Monte Lupo artists have developed a very distinct, individual, naïve style. The artists can express themselves freely through several medium including sculpture, painting, pottery, and screen printing. Monte Lupo staff find this freeness in the artwork visually inspiring and exciting. In these artists, one can truly see the infinite expanse of human expression.

The Monte Lupo machine operates through individual commitment to a team effort – Creative Collaboration, collaborating to produce the finished product and all that entails from unloading the clay off the truck to the selling.  It is an opportunity for people with disabilities to contribute to a whole, to be a ‘creative cog’ in a machine that would not operate without them.
