Mosaics with Kate van Nooten

Saturday November 21 and 28, 10.30AM—3.30PM

Delivered over two weekends, these fun mosaic workshops are suitable for all skill levels. Led by experienced artist Kate van Nooten, the series will begin with an introduction to mosaic tools, materials, processes and design. You will select a pre-cut cement-sheet base and choose a colour scheme before creating your mosaic. Once your design is complete and the grout has set, you will have the option to add paint around the finished piece.

About the artist: Kate van Nooten is a mixed-media 3D artist currently based in Strathbogie, Taungurung country. Her journey into mosaics began in 2004, joining a team working alongside Melbourne sculptor, Deborah Halpern, which included the restoration of the NGV’s Angel sculpture at Birrarung Marr. Kate has since created many public works around the Surfcoast Shire and Bellarine Peninsula. Kate’s own work is inspired by community and her inextricable reverence for the sacred design of the organic world.
