Ant Farm + EAWS + BELT & ROAD
Event description
Ant Farm is the Brisbane side-project for Matt Love of Even as We Speak. He's teamed up with Rob Crawford (drummer from The Lemmings) and bass player Tamara Playne. The songs are a catchy accompaniment to small hours insomnia but you can hear them on a Sunday arvo with a drink in hand at the MoshPit.
In addition to Ant Farm, Even as We Speak will explore their unplugged side + a special appearance from
Paddy Manning (Aftertaste) new semi outfit Belt and Road
doors open 2.30pm. Bands at 3pm.

Ant Farm
Birthed in 2024, Ant Farm bring their jangly, gritty earworms to the lo-fi indie pop scene. Emerging from the fetid swamps of tropical Brisbane they recall a time when 80s and 90s indie pop was the soundtrack to sweat to. When paisley, stovepipes, raybans, and docs were rational fashion choices for Summer. When the cops were pigs (allegedly), a fascist hypocrite ran the state and 4ZZZ was mandatory listening. Before inner city bypasses, before bridges or parks were named after musos, before everything grew up.
Ant Farm formed in 2024 but their sound has its roots in the post punk and indie pop of the late eighties and early nineties.
Even as We Speak
Even As We Speak signed with Sarah Records and Phantom Records, are favourites of the UK indie scene where they have regularly toured, and are a regular feature of the various international popfests.
Belt and Road
BELT AND ROAD EP OUT AT LAST! Ahoy friends since Covid I've been beavering away in the background working on a bunch of original songs with a few mates - Adam Lill from our old Sydney band The Aftertaste, drummer Anthony Johnsen (Too Easy, Outback Traitors, ex-Mess Hall) and guest trombonist Aidan Parkinson (ex-Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra). My first thought was to be like the Ramones of Folk - nothing long-winded, two minutes is heaps! - but it's a work in progress. Our band is called Belt and Road, the EP is called Pageless and the single is "Simone". All songs written by me, music by all of us. Recorded by uber-professional Marc Scully at STUDIO 57 RECORDING in Taren Point. If you feel like supporting new indie music you can listen and buy the whole EP for $7 or $1/song at Bandcamp here: https://beltandroad.bandcamp.com/album/pageless-ep (and trust me any spare dollars are appreciated) or just capitulate to the tech bros and stream free here: https://open.spotify.com/album/1pM3R4Vd8AbzjjF1uGaP36
