Mothering Alone: Supporting Single Mothers (Online September)
Event description
This is a 2hr(ish) workshop that will explore the varied, lived experience of single mothers in our society, and the very tangible ways we, as individuals, can better support them to thrive.
Being a single mother myself, I notice how little is spoken in public about the experience of solo parenting. There's an invisibility about being a single mother and a whole slew of stigma to navigate that can make this journey so much more challenging than it already is.
I'm not professing to speak on behalf of all single mothers, there is so much variation in each woman's experience, but I'd like to at least start opening up this conversation. It's time for the whole community to step up and step in, to support mothers in the vital work of raising the future generations.
This workshop will run for roughly 2hr (it may go a bit longer) with a section at the end for Q&A. It will be recorded and everyone will receive the recording.
I want this to be as accessible as possible to everyone, so if you are experiencing financial stress please reach out x
