Event description

Local historian Bridget Oates hosts a room-by-room tour of the Mazza Castle. Guests learn the history of the Castle, from its building by the McCloskey family following the Great San Francisco Earthquake to its use as a speakeasy, a barracks in WWII, and some of the mysteries and rumors surrounding the property.

After the tour, guests enjoy high tea with classic offerings of sandwiches, scones, and sweets.

The event lasts 2 hours in total and is for adults only. The Castle is not wheelchair accessible. Tours require walking up and down several flights of stairs. Please, no outside food or drink, no spiked heels, and no pets. The Castle is a non-smoking property.-

----**IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT ARRIVING TO THE CASTLE**

Many of our guests have voiced concerns about arriving at the Castle using GPS navigation (which typically routes visitors up a very steep hill with poor traction). To avoid the hill on your approach to the Castle, follow these directions from Paloma Exit from Highway 1:

1. Head east on Paloma Ave

2. Make a right on Mirador Terrace

3. Make an immediate left on Carmel Avenue

4. Turn right at Vallejo Terrace

5. Turn right onto San Pablo Terrace. The Castle will be directly ahead of you.

6. Limited parking is available on the street and in the parking lot on the right as you approach the Castle on San Pablo Terrace.
