Motorcycle Speedway: No brakes, No gears and No fear

A talk by local historian and motorcycle tragic Bob McGlinchy

Join us at the museum for a talk about Motorcycle Speedway, from its formative years in 1923 at Maitland showground, to its development of a thrilling new international sport.

Covering, local riders, Frank Oliveri, Liverpool Speedway and its World Champion riders and the World Pairs Speedway Final, to the story of the infamous Sydney Showground speedway streaker.

No brakes, No gears and No fear will give us a gripping insight into the dangerous and exciting minute of racing.

Bob McGlinchy is the President and Life member of the Bankstown Wiley Park Motorcycle club and a life member of Motorcycling New South Wales.  He developed an ongoing love for Motorcycle Speedway, after finding it as a young man while looking for a fun, entertaining and cheap night out.  While he never raced, he was part of the action as a member of his younger brother’s support team as he raced at tracks including Newcastle Motordrome and Liverpool Speedway.
