Mount Barker Science Fair 4th May Afternoon Session 1.00pm-4.00pm
Event description
Thanks to our sponsors, Mount Barker Kia, Cornerstone College and the District Council of Mount Barker, The Science Collective returns to Cornerstone College in Mount Barker for the fifth annual Science Fair with some brand new attractions and plenty of your favourite activities of previous fairs. There will be two three-hour sessions on the day (9.30am-12.30pm and 1.00pm-4.00pm) and each session will have amazing science shows, engaging displays and plenty of hands-on activities to keep young family members busy for the entire session.
SciFiBri's Fire, Froth & Fog Show is not to be missed, The Ammonites (an all female sciencey sing-a-long group) will be presenting after a successful Fringe season, Prof Flint is back with an amazing palaeontolgy display (and may be invited to join the Ammonites on stage for their finale) and Animals Anonymous returns with an engaging Native Animal Show. SciWorld's huge inflatable planetarium will take you on a journey through the night sky and Roboroos will be there with a come-and-try robotics program. The Marine Discovery Centre will have a large marine ecology display and IgniteVR will be offering individual virtual reality experiences. The shows and attractions will be complemented by a range of hands-on science fun activities and an upgraded electric circuit challenge. The Australian Dalek Builders Union will have an impressive display of (slightly scary) Daleks with their regular (but hollow) EXTERMINATE threats.
Visitors are encouraged to dress to embrace the 'May the 4th be with you' Star Wars theme and there will be prizes for the best Star Wars costumes.
Hungry? No problems. The Lions Club of Mount Barker will be there with inexpensive BBQ offerings and a coffee van will be there with some sweet treats and fabulous coffee.
We know that with costs rising in many areas a day out with the family needs to be affordable. So we have kept the entrance fees as low as possible with a family ticket available for just $35 (2 + 2 or 1 + 3) and all adults at the children's price of just $10.
