Mount Beauty Oktoberfest & Dachshund Derby

Get ready for the third annual Mount Beauty Oktoberfest & Dachshund Derby, returning on Saturday 3 October 2026 from 11am to 8pm at Mountain Monk Brewers.

Following the incredible success of last year’s event, which welcomed more than 700 guests and over 100 dachshunds, this year’s celebration will be even bigger, bringing together Bavarian festivities, local markets, live entertainment and plenty of four-legged fun.

Enjoy live music throughout the day, the much-loved Dachshund Derby, a stein-holding competition and free children’s entertainment, including face painting and creative activities.

Mountain Monk Brewers will be pouring a fantastic range of craft beer, including a Bavarian Pilsner and Dunkelbock brewed especially for the event, alongside a few limited-edition and speciality beer surprises. German-inspired food will be available all day.

This year, the event is being held in conjunction with the Mount Beauty Markets, with more than 40 market stalls expected to attend, offering local produce, gifts, crafts and more.

Bring a picnic blanket, dress in your best Bavarian outfit and settle in for a full day of food, beer, music and dachshunds. ENTRY IS FREE! JUST WALK IN!

New for this year are reserved seating areas for the race track, corporate boxes (a basic marquee set up, just for fun), racetrack advertising opportunities and event sponsorship packages. Proceeds from reserved seating, corporate box bookings, racetrack advertising and Dachshund Derby entries will be donated to Dachshund Rescue Australia.

Entry to the event is free, making it the perfect day out for families, friends, beer lovers and dachshund enthusiasts.
