Mount Druitt - Informing the Agenda Engagements (In person event)
Event description
First Nations communities have the answers about what is needed to create a better future where their voices are heard and their rights are respected.Â
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner Katie Kiss is embarking on a landmark listening tour to inform her agenda for her five-year term. This initiative is part of the ongoing commitment to ensuring that First Nations voices guide the journey forward, following the outcome of the 2023 Voice Referendum.
Commissioner Kiss will meet directly with First Nations communities to hear their perspectives on the key social justice issues that affect them. This extensive consultation will form the basis of a discussion paper, contributing to the Social Justice Report in 2025, and will shape the next steps in the collective efforts toward reconciliation and equality.
Please note that this event is location specific and other locations will be posted on our website.
Please note that participants are not expected to attend the entire day and are encouraged to attend in whatever capacity suits them best. There will be a structured presentation and yarning circle in the morning (starting from 10:00am), while the afternoon will be an open forum. Refreshments will be provided throughout the day.Â
