Description

MOVE TOGETHER. IMPROVE TOGETHER.
This November, we’re moving across Wellington for men’s health.

Move to Improve Wellington 2026 is a month-long Movember campaign built through movement, community and conversation.

Across the month, we’ll bring people together through running and walking, accessible movement, men’s-health conversations, recovery, volunteering, fundraising and social connection.

You don’t need to be a runner, complete the hardest challenge or attend every event to be part of it. Choose what works for you and show up in your own way.

The month includes a community kickoff, a men’s-health conversation evening, our flagship movement event and a social fundraiser and wrap-up.

Our flagship event on Saturday 21 November brings together hourly run/walk loops, functional movement, Pilates or yoga, recovery activities and a community hub. Take on one loop or several, book into a movement session, volunteer, support someone else or simply come along and be part of the day.

General admission to the flagship, including the run/walk loops and community hub, is free. Selected movement classes are $5 per session, with net proceeds donated to Movember.

We’re aiming to raise $50,000+ for Movember, with fundraising going through the official Movember platform wherever possible.

Koha and class contributions
Some Move to Improve events may invite an optional koha on the day. There is no required contribution, and no one will be excluded for choosing not to give.

At the flagship event, selected movement classes are $5 per session. Pre-booked class payments will be collected through Humanitix, with Move to Improve absorbing the booking fees. A small number of places will also be available on the day, with those contributions made directly to the official Movember page.

Where possible, koha and public donations will be directed through the official Movember fundraising platform to support men’s health.

Show up your way. Every movement counts.

FAQs

  • Do I need to attend every event?

No. Move to Improve runs across the month and you can choose the events that work for you. Come to one, several or all of them.

  • Do I have to be a runner?

Not at all. Move to Improve is designed to be accessible and inclusive. You can run, walk, take part in another movement activity, volunteer, fundraise, cheer, attend a social event or simply come along and connect.

  • Do I have to complete all of the flagship loops?

No. A new loop starts on the hour. You can complete one loop, several loops or take on the full challenge. There is no minimum distance. We do encourage you to step outside your comfort zone, whatever that may be, and to set a fundraising target to help support the awesome Movember cause.

  • Do I need to fundraise to take part?

No. Fundraising is encouraged, but it is not a condition of participating.

For the Flagship run/walk, we’d love people to set themselves a personal challenge. Whether that’s one loop, several loops or the full distance, and use that challenge to raise funds through their own Movember page, as part of the Move to Improve team.

You can sign up here: https://movember.com/t/mti-wellington?mc=1

  • Can I volunteer instead of taking part in the activities?

Yes. Volunteering is an important way to be part of Move to Improve. Volunteer roles will be available across the campaign and flagship event.

  • Is the flagship suitable for beginners?

Yes. The event is designed so people can participate at different levels. You can walk or run, complete one loop or several, join a movement class, use the recovery space, volunteer, cheer or simply be part of the community.

  • Can I register for more than one class or event?

Yes. You can register for multiple Move to Improve events and, at the Flagship, book more than one movement class if places are available.

  • What if I change my mind or can no longer attend?

That’s okay. We understand plans change. If you can no longer attend, please update or cancel your registration where possible so we can plan accurately.

  • Will I receive more information before the event?

Yes. We’ll email registered participants before each event with the important details, including arrival information, what to bring and any updates.

Flagship participants will also receive the confirmed movement timetable and final event briefing.

  • Can I bring someone with me?

Yes, but please ask them to register as well so we have an accurate idea of numbers and can communicate any important event information directly to them.

  • What if I need accessibility or additional support?

You can let us know during registration if there is anything that could help you attend or participate comfortably. We’ll do our best to support you.

  • Will there be photography or video?

Yes, photography and video may take place during Move to Improve events. If you would prefer not to be deliberately featured in promotional content, please let the event team know.

  • Is Move to Improve run by Movember?

Move to Improve Wellington is a community-led Wellington campaign supporting Movember. It is independently organised and delivered locally, with fundraising supporting Movember.

  • Is there a cost to join the flagship?

General admission to the Flagship Event, including the run/walk loops and community hub, is free.

Selected movement classes are $5 per session and can be pre-booked through Humanitix. Around 15 places per class will be available to pre-book, with a small number of places held for people to join on the day.

Move to Improve will absorb the Humanitix booking fees, and net proceeds from pre-booked class registrations will be donated to Movember. On-the-day class contributions will be made directly to the official Movember fundraising page.

  • When will the Flagship movement session times be confirmed?

The detailed movement timetable is still being finalised. If you pre-book a class, your place is secured and we’ll email you the confirmed session time before the event.

  • Can I join a class on the day without pre-booking?

Yes, subject to availability. We’ll hold a small number of places for each class for people who decide to join on the day. These places will be first come, first served.

  • Is there a cost to attend the other Move to Improve events?

Most Move to Improve events are free to register for. Some events, particularly the Men’s Health Evening, may invite an optional koha on the day.

There is no required contribution and no one will be excluded for choosing not to give. Where possible, koha will be directed straight to the official Movember fundraising page.

  • Where does the fundraising money go?

Public fundraising and donations will go through the official Movember platform wherever possible. Sponsorship and partner support are used separately to help deliver Move to Improve.
