This discussion will feature guest speakers who are active in the men's health and sporting worlds, bringing them together to share perspectives on the role sport plays in young men's lives.

Meet our speakers:

Moderator, Samir Mourani is a dynamic speaker, podcaster and entrepreneur, renowned for his contributions to mental health and self-development. He has delivered impactful talks on prestigious platforms like TED and at well-known organizations such as CAMH, Movember, Deloitte, Water Ambassadors Canada, and York University. Samir hosts and produces "Gent’s Talk," a top 5% globally ranked podcast by Spotify, also featured on WestJet & Air Canada’s fleet, reaching an average of 52 million passengers. He has been featured on Cityline, Breakfast Television, and CBC, discussing modern masculinity, men’s health, and relationships. A dedicated mental health advocate, Samir is committed to transforming the narrative around men’s mental health.

Panelist, Daniel Dearing is a 2024 Olympian in beach volleyball who overcame significant setbacks to accomplish his Olympic dream. He began his beach volleyball journey in 2008 as a youth athlete before turning pro in 2011. During his beach volleyball tenure Dan won 3 senior men’s national gold medals, 1 FIVB gold medal, and countless NORCECA medals for Canada. In an effort to give back to the volleyball community during his first retirement Dan started his iBelieve initiative focused on raising funds for underprivileged youth in the community he grew up in. He began to focus his efforts on coaching youth athletes and rehabbing his body to return to the sport he loved. In 2021, Dan was able to return to his Olympic dream and began a successful return to the sport of beach volleyball.

Panelist, Ramond Phipps is a healthcare leader, consultant, and professional "people-herder" with a knack for turning mental health challenges into meaningful change. By day, he’s the Implementation Manager of Men's Health, Community and Online programs at Movember Canada, where he leads the implementation of nation-scale projects in sports health, youth advisory, and media and masculinities—with esports, gaming, and research. By night (and weekends), he moonlights as a breath work facilitator and social care consultant, helping mental health and crisis response, human services, and public safety organizations work smarter, not harder. With a mix of professional expertise and lived experience, Ramond doesn’t just talk about change—he turns pain into passion, awkward conversations into action, and coffee into progress. When he’s not working to changing the face of men's health under the Movember banner, you can find him breathing for mental clarity or exploring the vital connections between personal wellness and healthier communities.

Panelist, Ryan Oldfield hails from the United Kingdom and is known in the Call of Duty (COD) esports scene as “Flux”. Flux began his Call of Duty career in 2011 with Team Infused before competing with European rosters including Mindfreak UK, TCM Gaming, and Epsilon Esports across multiple titles. In 2020, he joined Toronto Ultra as an Analyst, contributing to strategy and performance development. Promoted to Strategic Coach in 2022, Flux transitioned from data-focused support to shaping team philosophy and execution. As a coach, he emphasizes long-term development and has played a key role in nurturing talent such as Tobias “CleanX” and Thomas “Scrap.” His approach centers on building cohesive rosters with high potential, aligning with Toronto Ultra’s culture of developing young players. Under his guidance, Toronto Ultra has secured four tournament wins and remains one of the most successful franchises in Call of Duty League history, with at least one victory each season from 2020 to 2024.
