Movement Base Camp
Event description
Location: Sunshine Coast Hinterland - Dulong
Light Refreshments included.
Movement Base camp is a metaphor to prepare for the climb.
The climb is everyday life, our journey, our experiences and engaging in the ever-changing landscape. We must prepare and make sure we carry all the essentials with us, have a map, a compass, the right tools and strategies, and have our minds and bodies in good health and condition, knowing that the climb will always test, challenge and rewards us.
Join me in a small group environment in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland to challenge the way you move, think, perform, practice and adapt.
This is an invitation to expose, explore and exercise your mind and body through the practices of stillness, coordinations, rhythm, improvisation, joint articulations and obstacle games to test and taste how we can improve and adapt to new challenges and strategies.
In this movement workshop we will be exploring:
Functional patterns and principles
Offer fun propositions in obstacle games to provoke creative thinking
Expose linear habits and feel where we are holding tension
Learn to distribute and release physical stress within the body
Abstract tools such as wooden sticks and the practice ball to challenge your cognition, adaptiveness, flexibility, range of motion, balance, coordination, structural integrity and creativity.
This movement workshop is for anyone willing to explore, expand and excite their understanding of human motion and cognition in a variety of ways, that are practical for everyday life and activities.
Encouraging you to move in more novel and playful ways, helping you reconnect to the freedom of movement. Helping to restore and replenish your energy reserves for the next climb.
Learn to move as a creative animal, not a linear, monotonous machine.
This workshop is inspired by Fighting Monkey. - "FM Practice research is centred around communication, physical dexterity and creative thinking and moving to be capable of solving real-life problems and thrive in life."
