    MOVEMENT FOR MENTAL HEALTH

Movement for Mental Health is a UTS Business School ECL initiative that supports Sober In The Country, a non-profit organisation that affects social change surrounding the culture of alcohol in regional and rural Australia. This virtual online event aims to raise awareness about the stigma of saying no to a drink while promoting positive mental health practices, and much-needed funds for Sober In The Country.

Join us on Sunday, October 15th at 2.00pm to hear inspiring stories from our very own 2022 Australian of the Year recipient; Shanna Whan, participate in our fun and beginner-friendly pilates class and go in the running to win raffle prizes.

    ABOUT SOBER IN THE COUNTRY

Sober In The Country aims to remove the stigma surrounding alcoholism in rural areas and foster meaningful conversations about its impact in these areas. Founded by Shanna Whan, a 2022 Australian of the Year recipient and rural Australian woman who has personally overcome alcoholism. Shanna devotes her life to being the most authentic version of herself, telling her moving story to thousands of people across regional and rural Australia, hoping to reframe the culture surrounding alcohol within the country and broader society. Through her work, she is sparking the conversation around booze within the bush and promoting the message that it's OKAY TO SAY NO to alcohol. Shanna's been telling her story for years and years - not because it's unique - but because she knows it's not unique at all!

Click GET TICKETS above to join us online on Sunday October 15th at 2.00 p.m. If you are not able to join us, please feel free to click through and purchase a raffle ticket or two, or even make a donation that will go directly to Sober In The Country.
