Movement + Play Lab
Description
Who are you becoming?
Who are you when you feel most aligned and in your body?
In this laboratory we will use
~movement practices
~theater games
~embodiment tools &
~PLAY to get out of our heads and into our bodies.
Through this experience you will discover & express things from your internal landscape that are ready to be seen. We will approach this process with child like wonder and you will get to explore what it feels like to become an eccentric chair, a potato desperate for love, or the milky way.
This is ideal for anyone who enjoys dance, acting, clowning, play or who feels called to explore these things in a welcoming judgement free space. It's also excellent for folks who are comfortable playing with their own humanity or who feel resourced enough to do so. It's therapeutic in nature, but it IS NOT therapy and Alison is not a mental health practitioner. You will walk away connected to something inside of you that is a BIG YES to life, and with a way to begin to nurture that energy in your life.
Testimonial
“Thank you Alison for this incredibly special immersive experience last night! It was truly so needed, and deeply impactful - so much came through for me, especially with the chakra exercise. I couldn't believe how deep we went in just two hours, but also through such a playful and embodied lens. Which was refreshing to not be in my mind. The exercises connected a lot of dots for me from therapy, clowning and performing I do. I especially appreciated the permissions to lean into your most uninhibited self and the feminine energy guiding us. I will definitely be taking more of these deep and playful dives with Alison! Thank you.”

She has been invited to perform at Snug Harbor with Mélisande Echanique Choreography, in NYC with BodyStories: Teresa Fellion Dance & with Vangeline Butoh Dance at the NYC Dance Parade choreographed by Yazmin Gonzolez. She is a co-creator of ClownPark with Gian Carlos Villa, which is a project they started in 2025 to explore the heart of performing in public and the question: what is the purpose of art in public?. Her approach to art making is rooted in curiosity, delight, and a genuine desire to connect with herself and others in the process. When she’s not dancing, performing or creating with others she is a facilitator with a passion for supporting people to connect to new possibilities & their unique creative expression through 1:1 Sessions and group programs. One of her favorite resources for staying connected to her inner artist's yes & delight is The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron (she’s personally journeyed through it 5x and facilitated 13 Artist Way Circles). Her favorite Julia Cameron quote is, “Serious art is born from serious play”, and her favorite question to play with in life is: What else is possible?
Alison is a 2026 Artist In Residence at HumorVille.
