The Plastic Country is a 2026 Australian documentary film that follows ocean advocate and filmmaker Kal Glanznig as he investigates Australia's heavy reliance on single-use plastics and how microplastics infiltrate both natural ecosystems and the human body.
The film was recently selected for the Bangalow Film Festival and features an Academy Award-winning sound team and an original soundtrack by First Nations band King Stingray. It is supported by Minderoo Pictures and Surfers for Climate.
