Moving Meditation for Spicy Minds (October Tues eve)
Event description
Did you know you can meditate while you move? Do you think you 'can't meditate' because you can't sit still? Well, this group is perfect for you! This guided moving meditation includes gentle movement from small hand gestures to stretching, walking, and dancing.
You don’t need to worry about how you move or what it looks like; there’s no right or wrong here. As we listen to our bodies, we learn what works perfectly for us, just as we are right now. No experience required. Graceful or unco, everyone is welcome!
More details:
Moving meditation is for you if you haven't gotten anywhere with seated meditation yet even though you keep trying. Instead of fighting with your body to keep still, let your body move and use this soothing rhythm to bring you back to centre.
You can get the same skills you get in "regular" meditation without having to sit still in silence. Having your eyes open, letting your body move naturally, and gently moving your attention can settle a scattered brain in the moment and can also help that brain feel less scattered over time. 🕺
All adult humans are welcome. The class is particularly designed for people with neurodiversities as well as those with complex trauma patterns. This class is for you because you too deserve calmness and clarity in your mind. Classes with too much stillness, silence, breath work, etc. may not be for us but that doesn't mean we miss out on the benefits of meditation. Learn a different way with me. We can wiggle and shake our way to the same zen destination. 🤸♂️
You don't have to struggle against yourself to feel calm some times. Let it be easy and even fun! Don't take my word for it, give it a go yourself and feel if it works for you.
This is a five-week series and you can attend some or all. Each class is $15 casual. All registered students also get access to the replays for 48 hours after. Students' names and videos are not included in the recording.
There is a discount to register for all five classed and some sponsored spots available for those who need them, so please let me know if that's you and I'll send you code. No paperwork required, just ask. 🌺
Your teacher Mags Sheridan is an embodiment coach who includes dance, meditation, neuroscience, recovery work, and trauma work to help you find your mojo again and create a new full-colour life.
