Event description

***The talk is open to the public and promises to provide valuable insights for researchers, students, entrepreneurs, business leaders, and anyone interested in the intersection of biology and business.***

Join us for an enlightening talk by Dr. Joseph Steensma, Visiting Scholar at Macquarie University and Professor of Social Entrepreneurship and Public Health at Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Steensma, known for his remarkable success in business and his extensive research (and writing) on birds, will share his unique insights on how biological systems can inform better business practices.

Long before Joe was a successful entrepreneur, he was a passionate birder. His lifelong study of birds—their behaviour, anatomy, adaptability, and efficiency—revealed key systems that underpin their success. By understanding these systems, Joe was able to apply his learnings with great effect as an entrepreneur. In this talk, he will explore how insights from bird ecology and biological systems can help us build better businesses and more sustainable ecosystems.

Dr. Steensma believes that if we understand efficient, well-regulated biological systems and think of them as markets, we can leverage capitalism to solve pressing problems. Don't miss this opportunity to hear from Dr. Steensma and learn how to apply the principles of biological efficiency to improve business today. The talk is open to the public and promises to provide valuable insights for entrepreneurs, business leaders, and anyone interested in the intersection of biology and business.
