Thank you for participating in Living Works Start training. We hope you feel more confident and prepared to support someone experiencing distress
You’re now invited to join men from across all Men’s Tables in a 1hr 15 min session to develop further skills through an interactive workshop, learning together.
Learning skills and gaining confidence to engage with a person who may be suicidal is a powerful set of life skills and can apply to our Table as well as in the rest of our life.
In the 2024 Annual “Have your Say”, 55% of responding men at Tables identified as having a Lived Experience of Suicide.
We know that in Australia there are around 3100 reported suicides in a year. There are also many unreported suicide deaths with estimates being 5% to 25% more.
A much larger number, estimated at 5% of Australian population have thoughts of suicide.
In this session, we will discuss the key skills and behaviours that you have seen and learned from the Start training.
The Start training provides a good starting point for developing and learning these skills. But we tend learn a little from an online training and much more from having conversations and learning with others.
We hope you can join us
