Making Therapy Work: Workshop
Description
When families are told their child needs therapy, it can feel urgent to start straight away. Many parents feel pressure to do as much as possible, and worry about getting it right. However, research shows that the time you spend with your child is actually what makes the biggest difference.
This workshop will give you practical strategies to use therapy to support your child, and the confidence to make it work for your family.
You’ll learn
Different ways to use therapy to fit around your family’s life
The important role you play in supporting your child’s development
Who is on your child's team, and how to work together
What matters most to your family, and how to turn this into meaningful goals
You'll also be introduced to the new National Framework for Best Practice in Early Childhood Intervention.

Workshop Facilitators
At Belongside, trained parent peer facilitators deliver all of our workshops. They understand what it is like to raise a child with disability, because they are parents and carers too. Our peer facilitators combine this lived experience with an understanding of evidence-based and best practice approaches, so support is helpful in everyday family life.
