Multicultural Council of Tasmania AGM

The Annual General Meeting of the Multicultural Council of Tasmania will be held on Thursday 10th October 2024 at the Moonah Arts Centre, 23-27 Albert Road Moonah.

Registration of members will commence from 6:00pm. We will begin with a light dinner. The meeting will commence at 7pm.

Under section 11.6 of the constitution the 2024 Annual General Meeting will include the election of the following positions for 2 years: Chair, Vice Chairperson, and 3 additional board members. One of those vacancies for additional board members is to be reserved for female candidates. 

Nominations for Board positions will open on Wednesday 1 September and close on Wednesday 25 September 2024. Further Information will be sent via email in the upcoming weeks.

Please read carefully our Voting Information for details on voting eligibility and important dates. Please note all votes must be made in person by an eligible member. Organisations can nominate a maximum of three delegates; however, they must match the delegates on your membership. 

Voting rules as listed in the Constitution:

18.1. Upon any question arising at a general meeting of the Council, and in board member

elections, an Individual Member (being a member entitled to vote under these rules)

and each delegate has one vote only (even if a person is a delegate of more than one

member organisation).

18.2. All votes on questions arising at a general meeting of the Council shall be given

personally.
