Multifaith Gathering Celebrating World Day of Prayer for Peace in Assisi
Description
Multifaith Gathering: "Unarmed and Disarming Peace"
Join Bishop Vincent and the members of the Interfaith Commission Diocese of Parramatta for an evening of unity and reflection, featuring artistic expressions of faith from different religions, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the World Day of Prayer for Peace in Assisi.
In 1986, Pope John Paul II made history by inviting world faith leaders to Assisi to pray for peace. Today, as our world faces deep conflict and division, we gather to continue this legacy under the theme proposed by Pope Leo XIV for the 2026 Assisi milestone: Unarmed and Disarming Peace.
What to expect:
Sacred Artistic Performances: Experience moving faith performances and sacred sharing.
Spirit of Unity: Join people from diverse faith traditions to pray for peace in our times.
Dialogue: Engage in meaningful interfaith dialogue.
Community: Connect with others over light refreshments.
Be part of this global movement for peace, right here in Parramatta. Register now to secure your place.
