Description

Motherhood can feel noisy, repetitive, isolating, beautiful, exhausting… sometimes all before 8am.

This gathering is an invitation to pause for a moment and experience something simple and nourishing alongside other mums: singing together.

A gentle one-hour singing circle for mums, with optional café connection afterwards.

We’ll be gathering in a beautiful local church space, with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere for mums of all backgrounds and beliefs.

Join us for a relaxed morning of community singing led by Anne, who lovingly facilitated a local Singing Mums group for 10 years. No singing experience is needed. We’ll be singing together as a group, no solo performances or pressure; just voices coming together in a warm, welcoming space.

Anne brings a collection of simple, well-loved songs she has shared with mums for over a decade, chosen for ease, familiarity, and joy.

This gathering is part of a four-month Finding Our Voice series running from July to October. While each session can be attended on its own, mums are warmly encouraged to return throughout the series as we gradually build familiarity, confidence, and connection together.

Upcoming Gatherings

• Friday 17 July, 9:30am -10:30am
• Friday 21 August, 9:30am - 10:30am
• Friday 18 September, 9:30am - 10:30am
• Friday 16 October, 9:30am - 10:30am

Many mums tell us that one of the hardest parts of attending a new event is not knowing anyone. By joining the series, you'll have the opportunity to see familiar faces each month, deepen connections over time, and become part of a growing circle of mothers.

Series Pass - $89

Join all four gatherings and enjoy over 10% savings compared to individual tickets. Returning each month offers the opportunity to build familiarity, confidence, and connection with the same circle of mums over time. Series Pass holders may also bring a friend free to one gathering during the series.

Anne will teach us the music and lyrics by ear, with simple, uplifting songs chosen to support connection, grounding, and joy. Little ones are warmly welcome to play alongside us while we sing. Toys and a large mat will be provided.

We’ll gather on the lands of the Turrbal and Jagera people, in Meanjin (Brisbane), and honour their ongoing connection to this place.

What to expect:

• Arrive, settle in, and connect with other mums
• Gentle, guided community singing
• A relaxed, child-friendly environment
• Familiar faces and growing connections across the series
• Space to linger and chat afterwards if you'd like (at a nearby café)

The session will run from 9:30am - 10:30am, with nearby cafés across the road for anyone who feels like continuing the conversation afterwards.

You’re welcome to come exactly as you are:
with your baby, your toddler, multiple children, or on your own.

What to bring:

Just yourself. If you're coming with little ones, feel free to bring what you need for them to be comfortable (snacks, water, a blanket, etc.). Toys and a large baby mat will be provided.

No musical background needed.
No "good voice" required.
Just a willingness to join in, listen, hum along, or simply be in the room.

This gathering is part of Mum Circles Brisbane: created to help mothers build connection, find their village, and feel less alone in motherhood 🤍

FAQs

  • Do I need to be able to sing?

Not at all. This is relaxed group singing, no experience, skill, or “good voice” required. You’re welcome to join in, hum along, or simply listen.

  • Is this a performance or choir?

No. There are no performances, solos, or pressure. This is about singing together in a supportive, low-pressure space.

  • Can I bring my baby or child?

Yes, little ones are very welcome. The space is baby and toddler friendly, with room for them to move, play, feed, or be close to you. Mats and toys are provided.

  • Pram friendly & parking info?

This is a pram-friendly families-in-mind designed space, on the ground level, with parking onsite and bathroom facilities. Welcome to bring your pram inside the building.

  • What if my baby cries or needs me?

That’s completely okay. This is a mum-led space, so feeding, soothing, stepping out, and coming back in is all normal.

  • I don’t know anyone - is that okay?

Most mums come on their own. This is a welcoming, low-pressure space to connect at your own pace.

  • Is this suitable for new mums?

Yes, especially. Whether you’re newly postpartum or further along (yes, even WAY further along, it’s so normal for our circles to evolve), you’re welcome here.

  • What time does it run?

9:30am–10:30am. After that, you’re welcome to head across to nearby cafés if you’d like to continue connecting, or simply head off.

  • What if I arrive late?

No problem. Arrive when you can and settle in gently. We will need to stick to the 10:30am finish time as the venue hire ends.

  • Is it religious because it’s in a church?

No. While we are gathering in a beautiful local church hall, this is a non-religious community event focused on connection and singing.

  • What happens if I feel awkward or don’t want to sing much?

You’re still very welcome. Many mums come just to be in the space, listen, and ease in slowly. There is absolutely no pressure to participate fully.
