Mural Art BOOT CAMP w/ Jamar Duvol Pierre
Event description
MANITOU SPRINGS, CO — The Smokebrush Foundation for the Arts is proud to present Mural Art Boot Camp, a dynamic six-week program featuring 12 in-depth sessions in public art, led by acclaimed New Orleans muralist and cultural storyteller Jamar Duvol Pierre.
Hosted at the Red Crags Arts & Agriculture House, part of Smokebrush Farm in Manitou Springs, this immersive experience blends artistic exploration, technical training, and professional development in the community-rooted Smokebrush tradition.
Perfect for students, emerging artists, and established creatives, participants will gain real-world mural experience through a dual-track approach: developing a personal mural proposal from concept to presentation, while also contributing to the planning and final painting of a collaborative public mural to be installed in Manitou Springs.
The Mural Art Boot Camp culminates in a Community Day, where participants help complete the mural installation, followed by a Closing Ceremony honoring the work created and the community built throughout the program.
