    Event description

Calling young word and story lovers to join a writers' masterclass that will be like no other! Together we will explore numerous writing activities, tools, and techniques I've gathered over twenty plus years of teaching writing, and having more than fifty books published nationally and internationally. Your young writer can anticipate being able to access deeper original thinking, and create more striking writing / stories!

Along with being fun, inclusive, and safe (no one will ever be 'made' to share their work if they'd prefer to keep it private), these groups swiftly become a type of wild, weird and wonderful tribe of deep thinkers - with the quiet and loud, quirky and reserved - made to feel equally comfortable and welcome.

All your young person will need to bring is something to write with and on - pen, paper, notebooks, charged laptop etc., a drink bottle and afternoon tea.

    ABOUT YOUR TUTOR...

Melaina Faranda has mentored and taught writing to thousands of young people across Australia. She fills her courses, workshops, masterclasses, and author presentations with inclusivity, inspiration, a sense of fun, and non-stop tips, stories, and techniques that swiftly supercharge her students’ skills and abilities!

HERE'S WHAT YOUNG WRITERS FROM PREVIOUS CLASSES HAVE TO SAY...

'Thank you for your wisdom. It’s honestly been life-changing to have such a wonderful mentor!’ Olive!

‘I thoroughly enjoyed every class and hearing all your amazing stories.’ Ella

‘These classes have been incredible !’ Anouk

‘You really do inspire us all SO much.’ Elise

'I had never thought that I would be able to write as easily as I did. It was an amazing experience and I found it really enjoyable.’ Thomas

‘Melaina was a really good teacher. She really connected with us. She was so much fun with her stories and the way she explained things. Her energy filled the room and made everything fun and enjoyable. She really personalised everything and didn’t make it feel like any of us weren’t good enough. The course was really good. She covered a lot of what I wanted to learn about and I gained a lot of insight into what a writer’s life is like. Paizli

'The best teacher, the best story teller, someone who makes everything interesting and is full of joy.’ Jai

'We secretly called this ‘therapy’ group because we’d come after school feeling stressed by whatever, and then we’d leave the writing class feeling so happy.’ Cleo

'It’s the highlight of my week!' Noon
