Mushroom ID Walk
Description
Our woods are filled with an incredible diversity of fungi, especially in the autumn. For many of us, mushrooms can feel mysterious, but science has much to tell us about the what, when, where, why and how of fungal species! Join Carson Bullock and Christina Tavella for a beginner-friendly educational walk where you'll learn techniques for identifying mushrooms, how to forage for edible mushrooms responsibly, and what roles mushrooms play in the ecosystem.
Parking: Roadside parking at 42 Lincoln Road, Wayland. Park alongside the rock wall between the road and the grassy field, which we'll walk through to connect to Hazel Brook.
Children under 18 are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.
Photography will be taken during this event. If you do not want to be photographed, please let the photographer know.
This program is not suitable for dogs. Please leave your pets at home.
