Wild At Heart presents MUSIC BUSINESS EXPLAINED
for musicians with disabilities, neurodivergence, chronic and/or mental illness. Featuring special guests Our Carlson (Independent Artist, BDSM 420 Records) and Laura Semple (Hunger Digital PR, Marketing and Creative Agency).

This masterclass aims to give participants tangible music business skills, with a focus on accessible and budget-friendly ways to manage your own social media and publicity.

SAT 10TH MAY 1-4PM at WAH Studios, 5 Blackwood St North Melbourne (Meat Market) or ONLINE via Zoom. 

*THIS WORKSHOP IS STRICTLY LIMITED TO 20 PEOPLE*

  • How to communicate your accessibility needs 
  • Digital & Physical distribution of music 

PART 2: Social Media & Digital Marketing ft. Our Carlson (Independent Artist)

  • Setting up professional social media platforms 
  • How to use Facebook & Instagram to promote your music 
  • Case study: how Our Carlson uses Social Media to promote his music, engage with new audiences & advocate for disability rights.

PART 3: DIY Marketing & Publicity ft. Laura Semple (Hunger Digital Agency)

  • How to write & format your own press release 
  • What are the top priorities, if you're lacking capacity/spoons? 
  • Accessible & free forms of digital marketing 
  • How to approach radio stations, presenters and magazines 

ACCESSIBILITY & COVID-SAFETY INFO

  • This event will not be Auslan Interpreted.
  • This event can be livestreamed on Zoom, but online bookings are essential.
  • There will be an Air Purifier in the space, and patrons are encouraged to use masks in crowded spaces. 
  • This venue is accessible to all mobility aids, with zero steps throughout the space.
  • There is accessible parking spaces on Blackwood St. 
  • There will be seats available.
