Jesam Stewart-Rech
Jesam trained at WAAPA and the University of Tasmania, completing double degrees in Piano Performance and Accompaniment. After moving to Melbourne, she worked as a vocal accompanist and repetiteur, where she discovered a love of theatre that continues to inspire her work. Searching for a meaningful, non-mainstream education for her first child, Jesam found Melbourne Montessori College, where both of her children attended from Early Learners through to Year Six. Inspired by this experience, she went on to qualify as a Primary Teacher and Orff practitioner, drawn to the natural connection between the Orff approach and Montessori philosophy. Since joining the College in 2010 at the invitation of Dianne Davis, Jesam has loved teaching Creative Expression across Cycles One to Three, bringing together her passion for music, creativity, and child-centred learning. No musical experience? No problem!
