🎻 Begin Your Festival with Music, Calm & Connection

A One-Day Retreat for Musicians on the Day Before St Albans Folk Festival Begins

Arrive early and start your festival experience in a different way.

On the day before the festival begins, join multi award-winning musician Andrew Clermont and mindfulness teacher Dr Sharn Rocco in St Albans for a unique one-day retreat designed for people who play music and love being part of musical community.

Before the sessions, performances and festival energy begin, this is a chance to settle in, connect deeply, and open the weekend with ease, creativity and confidence.

🎶 Tune in before the festival starts

This retreat is for festival-goers who:

play an instrument or sing
enjoy sessions, jams and shared music
sometimes feel hesitant joining in
want more freedom and confidence in their playing
would love a quieter, more meaningful musical experience before the festival begins

Whether you are a regular performer, a casual player, or someone who mostly plays at home, you are warmly welcome.

No pressure to perform.
No need to be highly experienced.
No requirement to read music.

🎵 What the day includes

✔ Creative music workshops with Andrew Clermont
✔ Relaxed shared music-making in a supportive small group
✔ Mindfulness practices with Dr Sharn Rocco to settle nerves, improve focus and increase enjoyment
✔ Practical ways to move past self-doubt and overthinking
✔ Space to arrive, breathe and connect before festival weekend begins

✨ Why come the day before?

Many musicians arrive at festivals excited but slightly scattered — rushing, adjusting, watching others, wondering whether to join in.

This day helps you arrive differently.

You’ll begin the weekend already connected, grounded and more ready to enjoy the music around you.

Many people find that one day like this changes the whole tone of their festival experience.

🌿 A small-group experience

Numbers are limited so the day stays personal, interactive and welcoming.

That means more opportunity to play, ask questions, connect, and enjoy direct guidance.

🎼 You’ll leave with

more confidence joining festival sessions
fresh musical inspiration
practical mindfulness tools for calm and focus
new musical connections
a deeper sense of ease before the festival begins

Bring your instrument, your curiosity and your open heart.

Places are limited and likely to fill early.
