Music Production: Intro to Beatmaking

Start your music production journey with this beginner-level workshop on laying the foundation for a beat/track. We will go through some simple techniques to help you get started, such as using loops and samples that can be useful for songwriting, demos and producing beats.

The workshop will be facilitated by Jess Haugh, who is an audio engineer, music producer, and co-ordinator of Women about Sound. Jess is passionate about building the skills and confidence of women and gender-diverse musicians in music production.

We will be using the software programme Logic (which is very similar to GarageBand). If you do not have Logic, you can download a 3-month free trial. NB it is a Mac-based programme.
