Event description

About:

In the last 3 years, we've seen 129 participants from 31 teams come together to raise a whopping $129,359.

We've seen how far the creative Muslim mind can go when combined with the desire to change the lives of those-in-need and fueled by the unique blessings of the month of Ramadan - dressy dates with dua cards, beaded bracelets with fondant cookies, clothing auction drive, traditional desserts way out in South Australia, a soccer charity competition, haircuts and car washes, Islamic framed prints, cinnamon scrolls for justice, 3D-printed Islamic resistance wear, and even a deadlifting competition!

And guess what? It's all going to happen again this year... in just about 4 weeks.

If you want to be a part of this life-changing experience, then grab your mates and head out to our volunteer induction, where we'll tell you everything you need to know to start the challenge on a strong note and make this one of your most memorable Ramadans yet!

FAQs:

  1. Can I participate in the fundraiser if I can’t attend the Volunteer Induction?
Yes, however, we highly encourage attendance as the Volunteer Induction is where you’ll get the chance to meet other participants over icebreakers, find team members if you need, get feedback on your idea, and be the first to hear all the reveals.
  2. Is there an age requirement for volunteers? How do I know if I am too old or too young?
No, there is no age requirement. All are welcome, whether young or old. This is a youth-organised fundraiser, but we encourage diverse ages to bring diversity in the creativity of fundraising ideas and efforts.
  3. Do I need to become an MYA Volunteer before participating in the Muslim Youth Ramadan Fundraiser 2023 (MYRF23)?
No, you don’t need to become an MYA volunteer. Anyone can participate in the fundraiser.
  4. How will the funds be sent to the beneficiaries?
The funds will be distributed via Penny Appeal Australia. This fundraising competition is in partnership with Penny Appeal Australia, who is also an ongoing support of MYA.
  5. Is there a nearby station? Is there free parking available?
Yes, Auburn Station is just a 7 minute walk from the venue. There is also plenty of parking on adjacent streets.
