Event description

We are turning 5 years old this November! Can you believe it?

In five years we had been inspired by more than 160 stories, and been joined by more than 1500 amazing humans. Honestly, we have the best community ever and it’s time to celebrate it!

This month, we’ll get together virtually to hear from 3 amazing humans creating Social Impact in very different ways with one common goal: create a better world.

📣 Introducing our inspiring speakers! 📣

🧡 Elina Ashimbayeva has a background in biomedical sciences, start-up & management consulting, product management and the government sector. She is currently on a sabbatical studying Masters of Human Rights and sharing stories of women and gender diverse folks in Aotearoa via a platform she co-founded called Storyo. Elina has done a lot of work on human-centred design, storytelling, empowerment, vulnerability, radical change-making and representation. Oh, she loves chocolate and has no idea why she wrote this bio in 3rd person...

🧡 Juliana Carvalho is a Brazilian disability advocate, published author, inspirational speaker and award-winning professional. At the age of 19, she became a paraplegic. Instead of feeling sorry for herself, she turned this life-changing event into an amazing opportunity for growth and development.
Her book ‘In my chair or yours?’ has sold more than 30 thousand copies in Brazil and the English e-book edition made it to the top #100 hot new releases on Amazon.com in 2020.

🧡 Dr Kat Eghdamian is a speaker, advisor, and writer on human rights and social cohesion. A former child refugee who has lived and worked in over 9 countries across 5 continents, Kat's passion is applying a world-embracing vision to local needs and realities. Kat is currently a Lead Advisor at the Human Rights Commission and the Strategic Advisor on the 'Open Hearts and Minds' refugee campaign for the Auckland Refugee Council.
