About the Workshop

This online session will provide parents with the opportunity to build their inclusive education knowledge, advocacy skills and confidence in preparation for their child with disability’s transition to secondary school. This session will be relevant for families with a student preparing to transition to secondary school and those who are starting to think about the secondary school years.

This is an interactive online workshop.

This session will be recorded, however we encourage you to try and attend this session live to get the most out of this online workshop. All registrants will be sent a recording after the event.

This online workshop, will cover:

Why inclusion at secondary school is important for your child and your family
Creating and sharing a vision for inclusion in the secondary school years
What to look for – indicators of inclusion
Enrolment and preparing for first meetings
Establishing a collaborative relationship
Anticipating and addressing potential challenges

This online workshop will be delivered by CRU facilitators passionate about inclusive education and experienced in advocating for inclusion.

Who should attend?
Parents and carers of primary school-aged children with disability who are preparing for a transition to secondary school with disability. Parents and carers of younger children who are starting to think about the secondary school years are also most welcome to attend. This workshop will be helpful for families who are new to inclusive education, and those who want to refresh their knowledge.
