Event description

Positive Introductions

MyTime Online with Kindred

About this event

As our children grow and change, it's important to share up-to-date information with the important people in their lives. And there is no better way to do this than through a positive introduction. Whether your child is returning to school after the holidays, or starting a new activity, perhaps it is time to think about or re-look at an All About Me for your child.

Join this peer group discussion to hear how families introduce their children by focusing on their strengths, motivators, what they love, and what works best for them. Explore how positive introductions can be a powerful tool at preschool, school, after-school activities, community groups, and with family and friends. Ask for advice from the group, share your experience, and connect with other families.

This event is facilitated by Kristy

Kristy lives in Umina Beach on unceded Darkinjung Country.  She has one amazing small human who is almost 8 and has a diagnosis of ASD, ADHD and Global Development Delay. On the weekends you can find her little family either at the beach, in the bush or at the local markets.

Kristy worked in the corporate world for 15+ years before becoming a stay at home parent carer and part time artist/creative.  She currently works part time as office manager for her local LGBTQIA+ not for profit and recently joined the Kindred team as a parent facilitator.

Who is this event for?

MyTime is for parents and caregivers raising a child with disability, developmental delay or who is neurodivergent.

During a MyTime session, there is a guided discussion and a space to connect with other families. These discussions offer an opportunity for parents and caregivers to share and learn from each other.
