Suitable for 7 to 12 year-olds, participants will create their own Makuru Message Stick with the guidance of Yamatji Noongar artist Noelene Regan.  Noelene shares her stories, cultures and country through art.

Learn about NAIDOC Week and the Noongar Season of Makuru, winter.  Makuru is the wet season and Noongar people traditionally moved inland away from the coast.  Animals begin to prepare for breeding in the coming season.

Message sticks tell a story and carry important communications from one group of people to another.  They were used particularly to announce important ceremonies, weddings and other important events.

Limited spots available. Bookings are essential.

The Vincent Community Centre is a wheelchair accessible venue.
