This event features a sensory storytelling and art workshop led by Jade Goodwin, proud Aboriginal woman and author of the children’s book Earthspeak, followed by a cultural dance workshop with performers from Jannawi Dance Clan.
Come explore art, movement and shared stories that honour Country and culture. All ages welcome.
This is a free event, open to the public. Spaces are limited, so please register to attend.
Earthspeak: Boodjar Wangkiny
Join Gamilaroi illustrator Jade Goodwin as she reads her picture book Earthspeak: Boodjar Wangkiny in a special interactive session.
This joyful story celebrates the natural world, the sharing of culture through Noongar language, and the awe that comes from seeing, hearing and feeling how elemental forces shape the earth.
A heartfelt invitation for families to engage with their senses, care for Country, and learn some Noongar language words along the way.
In this workshop, explore the textures and colours of Country by using gathered bark and leaves to create their own artworks inspired by the endpapers of Earthspeak.
Copies of Earthspeak will be available on the day for purchase courtesy of Potts Point Bookshop
