Ready to dip your toes into bikepacking but not sure where to begin? Whether you’ve been curious for a while or you’re looking to build confidence on an overnight ride, this beginner-friendly adventure through Namadgi National Park is the perfect place to start.
Join Steph for a two-day gravel bikepacking trip to Westerman’s Hut. Complete with scenic climbs, hut stops, creek crossings, and a supportive group atmosphere where no one gets left behind.
Who is this event for?
This overnighter is designed with beginners in mind, particularly those new to bikepacking, but riders must be comfortable on gravel, as there are a few steeper descents and climbs throughout the route, so some gravel bike riding experience is required.
The ride begins with a gradual 10km climb, with a few punchier pinches where “hike-a-bike” is completely normal (and expected!). Along the way, the group will pass several historic huts and cross small creeks. There is ample water available, though all creek water must be purified.
The group will camp overnight at Westerman’s Hut. While the hut provides emergency shelter, all riders must bring their own tent, sleeping bag, and sleeping mat.
