Description

Come Celebrate Our Farming Community!

Heritage Community Branch Nanango and Nanango Men's Shed

have pulled together something special for South Burnett - a movie outing with a BIG difference…

a night to celebrate and connect with our local farmers and YOU are invited!

We're stoked to have raised funds to serve dinner and screen the "Just A Farmer" film. Afterwards we'll have a Q&A panel that includes Kingaroy local Eddie Sloan from Rural and Remote Mental Health.

Something to know: the film is rated M (15+) and unsuitable for children. For the screening the previous night (Thursday 17 September) we have organised for the children to be looked after with age-appropriate fun activities.

Come hungry because this is way more than just a movie night:

  • Yummy dinner served before the film (steak and salad) then tea, coffee & bikkies after

  • Got dietary needs? Just let us know when you book and we'll try to sort you out

  • You may go home with a great Lucky Door Prize!

There'll be treats and surprises to make it a night to remember.

Film details:

"Just a Farmer" transcends traditional cinema, authentically portraying the challenges and triumphs of a resilient farmer in rural Australia. This cinematic journey amplifies the often-overlooked voices of rural communities and sheds light on mental health struggles. It's more than a movie; it's a dedicated movement creating awareness, dismantling stigmas, and impacting the wellbeing of rural Australia. "Just a Farmer" breaks new ground, fostering understanding and assuring individuals they don't face darkness alone.

The film came out in 2024 and is rated M(15+). Run time is 103 minutes. There are heavy themes, including suicide and alcohol misuse.

Location:

The screening is outside, under the stars at Ringsfield House.

If there is inclement weather, we will move proceedings to The Chapel.

Accessibility:

The garden is at ground level with parking close by. If we have to move to The Chapel then there is a ramp.
