Event description

Course description: The course is a live online training session for NAPLAN coordinators new to online NAPLAN, from NSW schools.

Register for this session by selecting Register above.

This course will provide:

  • information on user roles and responsibilities
  • comprehensive training on the features and functions of the Online National Assessment Platform (the platform)
  • training on how to prepare for and deliver NAPLAN
  • hands-on practice in the platform
  • information on the range of resources available to support and train staff.

Who should attend?

Attendance is recommended for staff who will be acting as a NAPLAN coordinator and have not previously attended NAPLAN training. If you are a NAPLAN coordinator who is new to online NAPLAN, it is recommended you also register for the NAPLAN test administrator training (2.0 hours).

If you are a test administrator, you do not need to register for this course. You will need to register for the NAPLAN test administrator training (2.0 hours).

Is there any pre-requisite learning?

Prior to the training, review the NAPLAN overview document. This will be attached to the calendar invite sent to you prior to your session. It is also available for download from Schools Online.

Duration: 3.0 hours

Can I enrol in any session?

Yes, you can enrol in any training session that suits your school schedule.

Before the session:

This is an interactive session. To ensure you can actively participate, check:

  • your device has access to the internet and Microsoft Teams to view the training presentation
  • your camera and microphone are working
  • you can access the NAPLAN training and practice environment using the NAPLAN 2025 training and practice environment flyer
  • you have access to the training and support materials available for download from Schools Online.

What should I bring to the session?

It is recommended you bring a copy of the following documents, which will be referenced throughout the session:

  • 2025 NAPLAN handbook for principals and NAPLAN coordinators
  • NAPLAN quick reference guide – NAPLAN coordinator
  • NAPLAN 2025 training and practice environment flyer
  • something to flag important pages, such as post it notes and a pen.

How will I join the session?

This session will be delivered via Microsoft Teams. The Microsoft Teams link will be sent as a calendar invite and included in a reminder email. You can join the session by selecting the link.

During the session:

Participants are encouraged to take notes on another screen or a notepad.

IMPORTANT: NESA will manage any session recordings. Recording of sessions without prior approval is prohibited. Any participants who commence an unauthorised recording will be removed from the session.

What if I need to change or cancel my booking?

Contact us through the event page by selecting the relevant enquiry type (for example, “I want to cancel my ticket”) from the dropdown menu, or send an email to naplan.nsw@nesa.nsw.edu.au.
