Narragunnawali: Introduction to Reconciliation in Education

The Narragunnawali: Introduction to Reconciliation in Education professional learning course is a great starting point when learning and teaching about reconciliation, in Australia and in education in Australia.
Reconciliation Australia is a NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Recognised Provider of professional learning. In all states and territories time spent engaging in this professional learning workshop can be added to your Elective Professional Development hours under the following Australian Professional Standards for Teachers. Please check the professional development guidelines with the Teacher Accreditation Regulatory Body in your state or territory.
Participants will:
- understand reconciliation in Australia, based on five dimensions of reconciliation
- understand the history and current state of reconciliation in Australia
- understand the interrelatedness between educational and reconciliation outcomes
- understand and champion reconciliation, using the Narragunnawali platform’s RAP framework, professional learning activities, curriculum resources, and subject guides to support whole school/service RAP development and reconciliation journeys
- reflect on personal experiences with reconciliation in education, and understand how ongoing learning, ‘unlearning’ and ‘relearning’ are critical to the design and delivery of opportunities for students to develop understanding and respect for First Nations peoples, histories and cultures.

- This is an interactive workshop, participants will require a device with a working camera and microphone. We request that there is 1 person per device to support engagement within Breakout Rooms and discussions
- Workshops are not recorded and conversational content is not shared after the session date
- Certificates of participation are provided for registered participants. Certificates can be used as evidence of professional development
- Each ticket purchased is for 1 person, please ensure you purchase a ticket for each attendee. Contact us to reallocate a ticket to another individual before the session date
