Sun, 23 Nov, 10am - 1pm NZDT

Event description

Sharpen your narrative tools in this one-off workshop with PopRox improv.

Refresh and restock your narrative toolkit to create a satisfying arc for your improv- be it within a scene or across a whole show. We'll unpack what a narrative arc is, and the simple tools and choices you use to help keep a scene/show on track.

This is a refresh intensive, so folks should have some experience with improvised scene work and have taken a workshop in narrative before- to get the most out of this workshop.

ABOUT THE TEACHER
Austin Harrison is one of Aotearoa's most prolific improv performers, producers and teachers. He's a founding member of PopRox, a 6-time winner of Late Night Knife Fight and a Wellington theatre Award winner. Past shows include Ungartered Territory, Pudgy Mediocre White Men Solve Your Problems, and Magnus Steele. He's taught with Improv Connection, WIT, Voice Arts and was recently appointed Artisitc Director of the New Zealand Improv Festival. Austin specialises in interactive and narrative work and loves the full spectrum of joy improv has to offer!

THE STAND-BY LIST
PopRox firmly believes that improv is for everyone, especially when it comes to sharing skills and knowledge. So we're offering "the stand-by list" for all our workshops in 2025. We'll giveaway any spots remaining a few days before the first workshop of the course, on a first-come-first-serve basis. No need to provide a reason, no questions asked. If the entry fee is a barrier for you to come along, then simply email poproximprov@gmail.com and we'll pop you on the SBL. Everyone on the list will be notified whether there was a place available for them 3 days before the workshop.
