           Nasara - Yarning Australia Day 2022 mini fest
A day to Reflect on our rich and diverse culturally cohesive history, Respect for truth telling narratives as part of the great Australian stori and Celebrate resilience and cultural diversity. An inclusive and diverse program representative of our leaders from ASSI Tweed Heads/Sydney, Vanuatu, local Aboriginal elders, Torres Strait Islands, Caribbean, Tonga, Fiji, Tokelau and Samoan community.
Performances will hale from Torres Strait Island, Australian South Sea Islander, Pacific and CALD communities through our Oceanic custom, arts, song and dance.Â
Our program will pay homage to our Tongan Pacific families who are facing the drastic effects of climate change through a devastating volcanic eruption causing uncertainty for our Pacific nations.
- All participants must be vaccinated and show proof of registration for entry to this event.Â
- BYO food basket, portable chair and umbrella for hot weather.(to avoid cross contamination)
- COVID marshals and security on location at all times
- Benches shade amenities available and playground for children. Swimming not recommended but at your own risk.

The Nasara is the Vanuatu term for meeting place and Yarning is a common practice of tok tok (talking) amongst our indigenous peoples. Wansalwara means ‘one salt water’ … we are kin through ocean connections.
