THE NEW AND EXPERIMENTAL ARTS LABORATORY (NEAL) PRESENTS

    NAT BARTSCH'S LULLABIES

The lullabies of Melbourne pianist/composer Nat Bartsch are a panacea for these times. First heard on her acclaimed ABC Classic release, Forever, and No Time At All, these meditative neoclassical piano pieces are influenced by music therapy research. They are designed to soothe babies and children to sleep, but equally importantly, be soothing for adults to hear. This album exceeded its aim. Not only does it send many babies to sleep, but it is played across the lifespan in deeply personal moments - literally from the birthing suite to the final hours of life. It has been streamed more than 4 million times since its release.

In 2020, Nat created a jazz re-interpretation of her lullabies, titled Forever More. This ARIA-nominated follow up album translated Nat’s solo piano compositions to an ensemble featuring some of Melbourne’s most sensitive and lyrical jazz artists.

In two special concerts at Platform Arts, you can enjoy the two presentations of Nat Bartsch’s Lullabies; 11am, as heard on Forever, and No Time At All (a show designed for parents & babies to enjoy together) or at 4pm as heard on Forever More (a Sunday afternoon jazz affair with Nat’s quartet).

Please note: Babies-in-arms attending Forever, and No Time At All do not require a ticket
